Twain

“Write down all the things you’ve learnt in your life,

But make them concise and beautiful.

Especially if they weren’t.

Drag roses out of you knife- holes.”

                   .

“I can’t do that.

                   .

You’ll have to watch my blood pour on the paper

like vinegar on chips.

My eyes go red from the weeping effort

As I squeeze myself onto the keys.

                     .

I fear but I come through,

Read my body, torn in two.”
